JESUS Chic x 10. Say Amen to the Cross Trend.
As a current ex-Catholic and product of 12 years of Catholic school, I was a bit weary of the cross trend when it first arrived on the scene a little over a year ago. I have nothing against Catholicism, nor Christianity, nor organized religion, but like a KFC Double Down at the gym, I felt that ‘Jesus chic‘ was something that had no place within my fabulous little fashion world. How dare they! The cross did not belong anywhere near my skinny jeans, animal print pieces, or wedge heels! This little symbol which many innocently viewed as a ‘trend’ or ‘seasonal fad’ evoked intense flashbacks of knee high socks, Hail Mary’s, mandatory prayer, Irish nuns, and ::gasp:: nonexistent gay friends. Who could even fathom the thought of wearing a gothic style accessory out to the club?! The horror!
A year later, I am finally over my issues, and am now fully embracing the Jesus chic trend. Here are some ways that you can too!
