Stereotypical Outfit Post: SK8R GRL Edition
Skate culture is not something that I necessarily associate with NYC. As a product of a foreign land called Orange County, aka “the OC,” I am not a stranger to skater boys, or Vans shoes. Or perhaps we discuss decks, trucks, and Wahoo’s Fish Taco?
When my friend Greg asked me to attend the Vans BOWL-A-RAMA competition with him at Chelsea Piers, I was quick to say “DUH!”
Flashback to the 90s when I creepily stalked fellow tween hotties at the Vans Skatepark at the Block. So fetch.
I definitely couldn’t miss out on a taste of California coolness in the Big Apple. Major problem. What to wear?! Normally, cutoffs, a tee and flip flops would be acceptable, but this standard beach uniform would not suffice in an urban situation where walking is a necessity and one must be prepared for bipolar weather changes.
The outfit below fulfilled my needs.
1/2 beach hippie. 1/2 grunge. 100% chill beeyotch.
